Hi everyone! I’m back with a beauty review on a new product from one of my favourite brands — YSL Beauty. Their new Liquid Colour Balms are described as a high shine lip colour that moisturises and protects the lips just like a lip balm would, as they contain nourishing ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E. This product retails for $57AUD and you can check it out on their official site, Mecca or Sephora.
This product makes your lips look dewy and plump! Rather than being sticky like a lip gloss or creamy like a liquid lip, this product feels just like a lip balm as it has more of an oily texture — without being uncomfortably greasy. It has a medium coverage and leaves a little bit of a stain.
This product comes in 12 shades. They have quite the diverse shade range as they go from nudes, pinks and corals to reds and plums. I ended up picking up the shades #9 Strip Me Fuchsia, #10 Devour Me Plum and #12 Chase Me Nude.
#9 Strip me Fuchsia – a beautiful vibrant pink with a hint of purple. I was scared it was going to be too neon and bright but it’s actually perfect! This shade stains the most out of the three.
#10 Devour Me Plum – I saw swatches of this shade online and I just knew I had to get my hands on it! This type of colour is right up my alley — it’s a medium pinky-plum shade that gives off a little bit of a mature vibe.
#12 Chase Me Nude – A warm neutral peachy pink. This shade is super cute and great to pop on when you want just a subtle hint of colour on your lips.
Some other shades that I recommend checking out include #11 Hook Me Berry – a deep raspberry (this shade is already sold out at Mecca both online and instore!) and #2 Expose Me Rose – a super versatile warm nude 😍.
Packaging is loveee ♡
The adorable lip-shaped applicator is both pleasing to the eye and super easy to use. The tip has a little flexibility to it which helps the product softly glide onto the lips. The balm itself has a juicy peach scent — which is the same scent as their Volupte Candy lipsticks. It smells super yummy and isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The formula of this lip product is so different from any other that I’ve tried. I’m already thinking about picking up some more shades, but before then, I will be wearing these three to death!
Have you tried any of the other shades in this line or any other lip products from YSL? I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
